Stars Go Dim (SGD) is an American pop rock band from Tulsa, Oklahoma that formed in late 2007. They began as a side project of the Christian rock band Pillar. The band finished recording and finally released their first self-titled EP in October 2008, which consists of five tracks.
In 2009, the band won the Channel One News Artist of the Year Award. To follow up their EP, the band released their first full-length album Love Gone Mad in August, 2009.
The band signed to Fervent Records, where they released their first major label studio album, Stars Go Dim, in October, 2015. Their first single, "You Are Loved", went to No. 1 on the US Christian charts, and profoundly touched many lives. It’s a simple idea so often forgotten in the fractured attention span of life today, so front man Chris Cleveland and his mates knew it was a reminder that the world desperately needs.
They were nominated for New Artist of the Year at the Dove Awards.
This four man collective is forging like-minded modern pop, infused with both deep meaning and well-honed fun, merging layers of guitars, keys, loops and percussion to convey timeless messages. A lot of that experimentation came from making the purposeful effort to define a sound, something that was tough to do with such diverse talents and experiences.
