It was a big day at the newly named Regional Australia Bank Stadium (formerly Wingham Sporting Complex) with 5 games of football, an ANZAC Day ceremony, and the opening of the newly named Jake Kennett & Allan Skinner Grandstand.
In the First Grade game against the Port City Breakers, Wingham got off to a good start, running the ball on the last tackle in the first minute of the game. Matt Bridge ran downfield to pass the ball inside to Kyran Bubb to score. Jarrad Gibson added the extra points.
Twenty five minutes later, the visitors scored out wide to reduce the deficit to 6-4.
With five minutes of the first half remaining, Fletcher Lewis picked up a dropped ball and scored in the corner.
A penalty goal after the siren to Port City made the score 10-6 at the break.
Early in the second stanza, the Tigers went further ahead with a try by Aaron Groom, again on a last play. The conversion by Jarrad Gibson gave the home team a 10 point advantage.
Minutes later, Jake Mullen, celebrating his 100th First Grade game for the Tigers, ran the ball again on a last play option to bag himself a try. Again Jarrad Gibson added to extra points for a 22-6 lead.
A quarter of an hour into the second half, Matt Bridge scored in the right hand corner after a kick.
In the final minutes of the game, Brannon Murray dived over near the posts. With the conversion by Jarrad Gibson, Wingham were victors by 32-6.

In the Reserve Grade game, Leslie Rakwa scored in the corner after a quarter of an hour.
Port City replied just before half time to level the scores at 4-4.
After the half time siren, a Wingham player was returning the ball from a kick. He was hit with a high tackle and the ball stolen and the visitors scored under the posts to the protests of the Wingham players.
Trailing 10-4 at the break, captain coach Andrew Gilbert then scored, with Jacob Cross levelling the scores with the conversion.
The deadlock was broken in the final ten minutes with a try to Port City who won 14-10.
The Under 18s played some scintillating football in the first half with 7 tries to lead 36-0 at half time.
The Breakers scored in the corner just after the break, before Wingham responded with another converted try.
An intercept try to the visitors made the score 42-10.
A late try to Ricky Carrington made the final score 46-10.

The Wingham Tigers League Tag also played Port City, going down 20-4 after trailing 16-0 at the break.

The Wingham Women's tackle game was against the Kendall Blues who won 28-0.

With 9 teams competing in the Group 3 Under 18s competition, an early round was needed prior to the other grades.
The Wingham Tigers played the Wauchope Blues at Lake Cathie on Sunday afternoon.
It was a tight game, with Ben Guy crossing for a try just before the break for a 4-0 lead.
Wauchope scored back-to-back tries early in the second half to take a 12-4 advantage.
Zac Schafer then scored midway through the half to trail 12-8.
Ten minutes from full time, Kyle Marron got on the scoreboard with a try to level the scores. Joshua Hopkins' conversion edged Wingham ahead.
The young Tigers were able to hold on for a 14-12 win.
